Serbian Progpower-Metal band AlogiA preparing new album

This band ist set a bit more in the modern progmetal style. But that's not the only thing that makes them remarkable from other bands around. Their albums are recorded in Serbian language but the raw music translates into any culture. Because they’ve gained such a following in England and the US, they’ve translated their first album into English, and are working on a English version of their upcoming work as well.

At the moment the band is preparing their long-awaited new album,Elegia Balcanica, due to be released in September 2014 which will be distributed worldwide. The band recently signed a contract with Miner records which should give them better possibilities to distribute their music.

If you like to get to stay in touch with the band, head over to the band's Facebook site or check out more video stuff on their Youtube channel.

As for now check out one from their older videos below to get a idea of the band's abilities.

Easter-Gift: Progmetal Double CD from Neverdream for free download

Time is running really fast, by now we've left the first quarter of the year behind us. It's time for the tradition to send all the old ghosts of winter to rest and to celebrate easter it with a easter fire here in germany.

And it's the time to give away little presents mostly to children but also adults surely are happy when they receive a little gift. These time I'm glad I've run across a tip that lead to the website of the band Neverdream. It's a italian progmetal band with a very unique style. Lyrically they always focus on one topic to each record, which is mostly a dark-themed one.

Most recently the band did put out a double (!!!) CD under the title of "The Circle" telling a dark thriller story. They were able to get the support of Andy Kuntz, who is the vocalist of the german progmetal band Vanden Plas. The sensation is that the band is giving away the whole record as a free download! There are also pdf files available that tell the story of the record as well as files that contain the lyrics in it's original (italian) language and in a translated english version.

Just jump over to the download page to get your copy. The older records are also available from the same page. If you like to have a physical copy of the album then click on Buy now button directly under the download images. You will get two CD's along with a 16 sided booklet.

As a alternative to that please also pay attention to the donate paypal button on the right site of the linked website directly under the website banner. Making music and recording stuff ain't free so please consider at least giving back some bucks for the stuff you've taken. If you want to stay in touch with band head over to their Facebook page and give some a like.

For all of you that like to listen to some snippets first of the record I've added the trailer to the album below. Enjoy this piece of fine music and happy easter to all of you!

Rewind to Wacken 2013 and 2012 with german TV station zdf kultur

It has just been announced that Wacken Open Air 2014 will be broadcasted by the german TV station 3Sat live. Great news!

For all those of you who would like to re-live some of the (hopefully) sweet memories of the both past events I've got great news as well:

German TV station zdf.kultur will broadcast stuff from Wacken Open Air 2013 and 2012 on the upcoming Saturday night 19th to 20th of April 2014.

For exact timetable and bands see the notices below, all times are german time. Maybe these stuff can also be seen through the webstream of the TV station at the online-webstream of the station but I don't have proper information if there is a region-lock active so go and just try your luck.

Update 2014/04/20: Missed it out? The TV station still streams all the shows on demand for free. Same here with region-lock so just click on the artist name to see if it works outside germany, too. Bandnames without a link seem to have given no permission for streaming.

Besides that there are many more goodies to find there, too. Just click on this search-string to show off what there is, for example interviews but also the big cut-together shows seem to be still up for viewing. Keep in mind that this might only last for a limited time, so better hurry.

Chasing Dragons stream first track of their upcoming record online

Wow, female vocalists can add a lot to a band. They're not that often to find but every once in a while you'll find them. And when you do maybe you'll think the same - those women must be hardcore since they give a lot just to be accepted by the metal community.

One of them I recently ran across are Chasing Dragons. The band from Leeds are due to release their new record, ‘Checkmate’ on 2nd June via Trash Unreal Management. The band that has already released several EPs and singles just hit me very hard with the release of the track "For the sake of murder". Drawing comparisons to Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, AFI and Aiden come up to your mind when listening to their stuff.

As always its up to you to check their music out for yourselves and of couse please let me know what you think of them. For more information on the band check out their website and stay in touch with them through Facebook.

Update 2014/06/02: Show for June 4th has been cancelled, the band writes on Facebook about it:

"(...) Due to unforeseen venue actions entirely out of our hands, our show on Wednesday night with Death2Disco at The Macbeth in London has been cancelled. We're absolutely gutted to not be able to play for you guys but rest assured, the date is being REARRANGED for later in the summer! So we will be down to see you guys...If anyone has purchased tickets for this show in advance, please contact your vendor for a refund.

Sorry for any and all inconvenience caused but it really is completely out of our control(...)"

Armonight to hit the road with catchy new album

Power Metal from Italy is still alive and kicking! One of them is the band Armonight. The band just recently. released the album  "Recover".

The ten tracks on "Recover" are a mix of rock-style Armonight but, unlike previous work, namely the debut "Suffering And Passion" in 2010 and the subsequent "Tales From The Heart", dated 2012, the new studio effort has numerous catchy guitar riffs from the first listen. The band, in doing this, intends to deviate from the melancholy aura that characterizes the gothic genre which has been so sterotyped in the past by critics, through the presence of keyboards and female vocals.

In the last year and a half, Armonight played a long series of concerts in the UK, Switzerland,Netherlands, France (and, of course, Italy). In the upcoming months the band will tour Europe from August 29 to September 20. The venues have still to be confirmed. Just take a look on their website and on Facebook to stay up to date on these dates as well as for more info about the band.

But nothing describes music better than listening to it, so here you go:

MONSTER posts new trailer of the album "The Arrival"

MONSTER recently completed the line-up with the addition of the new guitarist Klaas Olthoff (ex-BURIAL VAULT / THE DAMNATION).

At the moment the thrash metal five-piece is working on completing their very first full album release. The record is tentively schedulded for release this year but MONSTER are still looking for a record label.

For all those who would like to listen early to some snippets of the recording the band has released a brandnew ten minute long teaser giving insight into the songs of the album.

Looking forward to this release, sounds like a piece of reallly, really heavy stuff coming our way.

If you want to know more about the band, go and click through to their website or contact them directly via E-Mail.
